Since joining KYB-UMW in 2021, Habib has been part of projects that strengthen the company’s position as a trusted engineering partner in the automotive industry. His role involves technical analysis, damping-force evaluation, and coordination with multiple teams to ensure performance standards are met. It’s a job that requires attention to detail, patience, and teamwork.

Recently, Habib has also contributed to KYB-UMW’s collaboration with Hubei Henglong, supporting research and development work on new steering systems for future vehicle platforms. The project reflects the company’s commitment to advancing local engineering capabilities and exploring smarter mobility technologies.

To Habib, R & D is not just about design. “Every adjustment, from valving to seal design, affects performance and manufacturability,” he explains. Balancing those factors while meeting customer expectations is what keeps the work exciting.

He credits teamwork for much of his motivation. “When a project succeeds or a customer issue is solved, it reminds me why I love what I do,” he says.

Looking ahead, Habib aims to deepen his expertise in vehicle dynamics and smart suspension systems while mentoring the next generation of engineers. His advice to young talents: Be curious, patient, and persistent. R & D is about learning, adapting, and finding better solutions.
